Ok will soon be painting the car just trying to decide on the final colour scheme Its definatly going white just cant decide on the roof

Car is currently Silver with black roof

Thanks I think I will stick with the black roof plan then !! can't wait to get my wheels back as well now !!

White with white roof, i've just re-sprayed my A4 in candy white (New Scirocco colour) and have done the roof white, looks amazing.
Black roofs are old now, been done loads

Got a pic !? I was thinking black roof has been done .. and comes on alot of new cars now .. but would the white roof just look too plain

Yeah but cant post it up cos my misses dropped our laptop! I thought it might look a bit plain or too much but i was real happy with the outcome, Got plenty of other black bits to break up the white. I'll try and get some up soon, might even be some on the B5 section on my re-spray thread
 
Hey Kal,

Im thinking all white...looks alot smoother and slicker.

For some reason, the black roof looks good on silver, but on the white, i dont think it goes.
 
Having it done at a family friends body shop so is doing it cheaper than they normally would (£1400)
Having the S3 wings put on along with the S3 side skirts (this has been a nightmare)
Rear arches are being tweaked to line up with the S3 rear bumper better
Having S3 spoiler fitted too
Had bump strips from doors removed
and getting the boot lid de-locked and smoothed to match the smooth front and rear bumper

alot of the grey plastics are being painted Gloss black aswell (round the front grill and the lower door mouldings)
 
Went to see the car yest and its coming along should be going in for paint early next week!
90% of the car has all been rubbed down now and the holes from the bump strips all filled in feels smooth !

S3 lower door mouldings should turn up tomorrow then can make the final adjustments to the side skirts

Thanks! Yea I still haven't seen one old shape A3/S3 in white in my area let alone with a black roof so it should stand out :D

Mirror covers are already black from when I had the roof done last year and I will leave them black, but was just going to leave the rings chrome on the front and debadge the back completely. Still wanted the rings visible

I had the outer rim of the front grille painted in gloss black and rear bumper insert last year too

Yea it will be black like it is atm .. thats just my poor photoshop skills on the white car at the top (gotta love the reflection of the Kia logo in the roof)

A few updates .. Just been down to see how my new wheels are getting on after being Repaired and repainted Gloss black to match my roof and mirrors .. will find out how they ride Monday when they have tyres



 
Also more work done to car side skirts have all been trimmed to fit better, and sides all smoothed down

That looks great !

One thing though...any reason you didn't opt for facelifting the front end when it was all being done?
 
Are them porsche twist reps or they the real deal? I'm thinking about getting some! They look sweet! So does the car btw! :)
 
Facelifting the front end ? Are you talking about changing the headlights to the one piece lights ? If so I am looking to get a set soon

The wheels are the 5 x 100 Mille Miglia wheels so they are a direct fit no need for adapters

cheers guys ! I will look into the Rear lights ... I was going to get a thin coat of Black sprayed on them just to match them in with the windows and roof etc

At the back above the number plate where the key lock is it sticks out on my car, I have seen some that sit flush with the car.

Does anyone know where I can get that from ? Or does anyone have the part numbers of the bits i will need ? I assume all the number plate lights would need changing too ?

The lock on my s3 sits out slightly. If you want it not to stick out as much then I guess you could put some washers/spacers on the bolts inside which holds the lock barrel to the boot and that will mean it sits back slightly. As for the paint job, it looks awesome, mostly because I have spent the past two months doing the same to my s3!!
