right ive got a 99 a3 qts with engine code ajq i recently did a k04 conversion inlet mani injectors etc mapped buy amd with 4 bar reg also 3" dp but im not that impressed so im thinking about a gt28rs as theres a company doing a bolt on kit using existing mani and dp im going to upgrade the rods anyway but wondering wether the pistons needed to be changed as i belive the comp ratio is higher in my car compared to s3's etc or would the standard pistons be ok and same for the valves is standard ok for this turbo any help greatfull

I wouldnt use the factory manifold its seriously restricting on my Hybrid so on a 28 it will be even worse

yep just feels slow it made 250 odd bhp and about same torque the best times i can get on the quater mile are 14.59 and i wana be in the 13s at least so more power needed

i have a printed graph if thats what you mean somewhere

found the print out there is 2 runs
run 1 247hp 249lb ft @3869rpm
run 2 245hp 256lb ft @3487rpm

do you wana see it if so ill take a photo an post it

Is this "kit" you refer to an eliminator 2 kit or CTS Turbo one?
the k04 conversion you mention was an actual K04, with k04 manifold etc yea? The eliminator 2 I think are for K03 installs... not sure if they offer an Eliminator 2 kit for K04 (225 engines)

pistons should be ok, mapping to suit, and rods are a good idea.

this is the turbo i was looking at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/E2-GT28RS-20V...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27a9faf46e

also yes i did use a realo k04 with k04 mani also 225 intake also what do you think off the turbo a waste of time or potential honest awnsers please and what sort of bhp do you recon

i belive you would be better off going hybrid on the k04, eliminator turbos are supposed to be laggy so you would benefit more from hybrid and you would be seeing similar figures to that of the gt28 would also work out cheaper as you have the k04 setup anyway

ok cheers i think ill just go for the ihi conversion then

i cant tell from the pictures wat it is.. not enough info

i did speek to them a while back they said it was a gt28rs or gt2871r that had been adapted tofit the k04 mani and downpipe if that helps
