As per title i need to rule out if i need a new Diverter Valve and cannot splash out on one as a trial and error especially since the hoses etc just cost me an arm and a leg to replace.

I just need to fit it on and see if the car performs better.....

Ideally yellow spring as that's what i will buy if need be.

Thanks

Why dont you test the one you have to be able to rule it out.

I did mate, results = Once pushed in and finger placed over top nozzle, the piston inside lowers by a few mm, then once finger is released it fully lowers... i dont know what to make of that

I have my old diverter valve (or a forge you can try) as well as the front springs if you fancy a drive down south... I'm in West Sussex..

thanks steve, but it will prob cost me more on petrol than buying a new DV from the stealers lol

If the piston stays up until you release your finger from the top nozzle then the DV is working fine. They all move down a couple of mm but as long as it doesnt return to its original position till you take your finger away then its working. Its when the piston doesnt stay up at all or slowly moves down to its original position is when you should replace it. A dead DV will flutter, working DV will woosh when you come off the throttle.

i cant see what youre going to gain by sticking a forge in there if your current one is working fine?

you need to go over that engine back with a fine tooth comb and find the leaks

even loads of little ones can lead to a big performance drop. the guy's i sorted out the other day said the difference was like before and after it was remapped. before his had a noticable dip in torque at about 4400rpm, could feel it in every gear etc all that was sorted and there wasnt one big leak, loads of neglected joints and hoses

where was the common leaks? iv checked properly and cant seem to find anything wrong, the whole pcv breather system was out the other day and i sorted it etc

Mine lost power today, looked it over & the hose that goes to the d/v has a small split.. must only be there when the hose expands under boost as the car idles fine still...

i have brisked over all the hoses in mine, even took the big turbo hose off at the back on engine to give it an inspection, will have to check the hoses to the DV properly again and the big one from the airbox
