Hi Guys,

I thought id let you know about whats happened at my household in the last week.

Friday Morning on the 9th i was awoken by my girlfriend about noises she had been woken by, thinking she was just hearing normal house noises i had a listen. At which point i heard footsteps which turned to running as i switched the light on. I ran out to the back of my house to find the window hanging off and the back door locked from the outside. I ran to the front of the house to watch my dads A3 being reversed of the drive!

The the week so far has be tramatic to say the least and i do count my self lucky that the burglars didnt find the keys to my new A3 but resent the fact of the events afterwards. The car was reported stolen within seconds of watching it go down the drive but the car was seen miles away with 20 mins by and ANPR roadside camera meaning they ragged the car. Also to add insult to injury we received a speeding ticket for the area for the evening after the burglary meaning they we driving around in it all day with the original plates on.

I dont want to go into loads of details about the area and the cars details (for obvious reasons), but i want to make sure that people stay vigilent about how desirable the A3 currently is with criminals. Ive been told by a number of police men/women that the A3 is the flavour of the moment and that my remaining black ed. is a real target.

So here's the details

STOLEN FROM NORTHWEST (CHESHIRE) ... seems to be a real hotspot!

and details of the car

56 AUDI A3 2.0T DSG Sportback (SPORT) in Maritius Blue

PLEASE:

Lock up your keys and make sure you have suitable security system fitted to your home! Ive now had a full alarm system fitted to my house something i wish id had earlier!

Sorry to hear about this m8, But at least you and your family are all safe, after all its only a car, very worrying tho :(

happen all to often gutted for you really am not a nice feeling when your your own private space has be invaded like that
sounds like the police are doing a s**t job as usual

Next time pull out your rifle and nail him on the drivers seat. I will pay for a new windscreen and valet :o.k:

sh*t state of affairs and i hope you dont suffer any more than you have. happened to us and its not nice. maybe this helps, but it could have been worse.
about 10yrs ago in london when i lived there, there was a round of building society burglaries, fueled by stolen cars - flavour: evos and scoobys. My best friend woke up to his parents held to the ground at gunpoint at 7am for the keys to his brothers scooby, but they didnt have them as he'd already left for work by train. they were okay but just goes to show that it is only a car, so be thankful your impt loved ones are okay.

Sorry to hear that mate

I count myself lucky for living in a place on the 3rd floor with gates to the car park

Hope you get things sorted

Sorry to hear about this mate.

But just remember things are replacable people aren't......glad no one got injured or harmed.

Cheers

Gutted to hear that, never nice for your home to be violated as well as having your car pinched.

However, I wouldn't lock my car keys away, in fact mine stay clearly in view of the front door in the hallway so that any potential thief can find them without having to bother me.

Given the story heard from Crypric and others in recent years, some of these thieves are going to get your keys even if it means killing your dogs and holding a gun to you or your partner's head. There is serious money in it for them and some of them will stop at nothing. Have a read of this.

I echo what the guys above say and thankfully nobody was hurt.

Hope they catch the scum that did this and justice is served in the most appropriate way: picking up soap in prision.

Bad news fella, probably in manchester being stripped as we speak! Look out for parts of it on ebay soon!

Hmmm.... I'm living in Stockport so this ain't the best news... there are quite a few A3's around here and I live on a pretty crowded cul-de-sac it's a nightmare for parking at the best of times plus with terraced houses easy to hear everything that goes on.
Gutted for you, hope it comes back in one drivable piece.

Jesus, sorry to here this. I'm in Warrington and i have been on gaurd after a few scares lately, looks like I need to be on gaurd some more now. Helps that all our locals in our village are all very vigalant, something happens cue pitch forks and torches lol. But it's getting to common now, and even more dangerous when the age group of 18- 25 are starting to run around with guns now.

Thanks Guys,

Sounds sad but in hardly sleeping at the moment as i keep being woken up by noises!

Finally a bid of decent news, the insurance are going to pay out as long as it doesnt turn up in the next few days.

I doubt it will be replaced though. :sorry:

Nick

Thats terrible mate, glad you and the family are ok though. I'm lucky where I live is pretty quiet you do get couple of vans broken into by local pikeys (tried my work van but all they managed was small screw driver mark on back door) It's pathetic that things are so bad that they would risk a human life for the sake of getting a car, bring back vigilante justice if you catch them in the house you should be allowed to do what you want to them imo, scummy ********.

So sorry to hear this has happened to you and your family! What has happened to this country, just cant have nice things anymore!

As said above, least everyone in your family are ok but not nice experience. Hope it all works out ok for you!

Damn dude sorry to hear that...so the police know A3's are top of the menu, what are they doing about it?

Just glad to hear nobody was hurt in the process.

I keep my keys in my bedroom, even though nobody would try to steal my car!

Seriously bad move. If they're prepared to force their way into your house then they'll think nothing of threating you or your family's life for the keys.

A car isn't worth it - leave the keys somewhere easily accessible so they just take it and leave you alone.

Haha i too sleep with my keys near me i never leave them downstairs and ive got a machete down the side of my bed which i would happily use on scum, id actually risk getting myself injured because i wouldnt want them to get satisfaction out of even being in my house let alone take my car

Nick, im sorry to hear what has happend. But as every one has said the main thing you and the family are fine. And we can replace items but not lives. Good to hear your insurance are going to pay out.
And its totally understandable for you to not be sleeping properly. It dont sound sad mate, Its obviously gonna be a shock to your system. But as already said glad you and your fmaily are ok.
