Does anybody actually tell their insurance company when changing wheels?
And if so, what sort of price did you have to pay them to amend your policy or for the increase in premium??

It wasn't a considerable upgrade, just a swap from my 17" Sport alloys to some 18" S-line alloys.

Should really tell them though I guess.

I will get people moaning about what i'm going to say i'm sure......

I wouldn't bother if they are o.e.m. wheels that could have been fitted from factory..... How were you to know...... A good percentage of A3's have those wheels on, it's not like your fitting Bentley wheels hey!

I like your thinking, and it's similar to mine.

I've just sold my old Sport alloys back to the dealer that I bought my car from. No doubt they'll be stuck on a standard A3 and sold on to someone who will insure it as an "un-modified from factory spec" car.

**Also waits for the backlash**

like above youd get away with it (providing you dont write off a veyron, after all how are you to know that your car has different wheels on if they are stamped with the manufacturers stamp all over them. just dont crash into me you bas lol i was contemplating not claiming the facelift on my s3 but in the end i will for my own piece of mind

Im 24 ( was 23 when I started the policiy) only 2 years NCB , but driving since 18, city centre address with wheels and intake declared...£147 a month..so not much compared to my overall quote!

I guess, when you look at it like that.
A drop in the ocean!

Wrong angle of attack Akash !! You ring up the insurance company and say..I have taken the ridiculously expensive original Audi wheels off and replaced them with some reps, what sort of discount will you give me.

ha ha. awesome.

I would tell them even if they are oem. Ignorance is no excuse really. Plus, I doubt it makes very much difference anyway. Well, if you tell them at the start of the policy. Your actually meant to inform them of all changes anyway, even factory fitted optional extras, so even if out the factory you specc'ed up a set of the s-lines on your se, you would have to tell them.
