So a few weeks ago I get an Check Engine light come on when I was driving normally. Car ran fine but plugged in the laptop armed with my ebay cable and got the following code:
17544 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System too Lean
P1136 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded
So as the car was running normally I reset the code and drove it to see how quickly it came back. 80 miles later it came back on. So I cleaned the maf with some isoprop and then checked the logs for the maf and lamba's and everything seemed normal ish and so I cleared the codes again. This time it took 100 miles until it came back on and I checked it and it was still the same code and so as I was going away for work again I just left the car parked up.
Got back last night and started the car this evening and the car had a judder and the check engine light was flashing. drove it up the road slowly and the car was obviously not happy so I drove straight home plugged the lappy in again and this is what I found:
4 Faults Found:
17544 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System too Lean
P1136 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded
16594 - Injector: Cylinder 1 (N300): Circuit Malfunction
P0210 - 004 - No Signal/Communication
16690 - Cylinder 6: Misfire Detected
P0306 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded
16700 - SAE - Engine Misfire Detected on Startup (First 1000 Revolutions)
P0316 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded
Now I did notice that when the engine was last taken out and the inlet manifold was changed the Barstewards broke all the injector connector clips down one side So I am going to take that loom off and fix them but what else could be causing the problems? could it be coil pack on the cylinder 6? and dodgy injector on cylinder 1?
may sound like a silly question but looking at the engine head on which is bank 1 and how are the cylinders numbered?? Also there is alot of talk in the USA of a coil pack recall! apparently there is no recall over here but why not? surely we use the same coil packs on our cars as they do over there!
Thanks in advance,
Sam
