Evening all, im in need of a new down pipe as i think mine is either cracked or leaking though the flexible part.
i have a stage 2 map, forge TIP, DV, milltek race cats and cat back system but no FMIC so i am assuming my down pipe has cracked due to high EGTs.

so my idea is to replace the down pipe with a 3inch one and a decat as my race cats will no longer fit.
where is the best place to order from?

Are the xs power items from ebay any good?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Audi-VW-TT-S3...CarParts_SM&hash=item35aabe3af9#ht_1349wt_982

p.s i will be selling my milltek race cats pretty cheep once changed, only two months old.

cheers guys

The xs power stuff is a bit of a mine field.

They dont fit without modification, the holes are out of place and i believe something else needs doing.

Andy off here bought one and sent all the photos etc to them to show them what needed to be done for the downpipe to fit correctly but unsure if they took note.

Ive just emailed them tonight asking if they have changed the deisgn yet, ill let you know when they email me back.

Sandip how much did it cost for your 3" turbo back system doing? Also where abouts in the country did you have to go them it doing?

Pipewerx is in Parbold, near Wigan. The 3"downpipe and sports cat was £575 fitted and i can't quite remember the price for the cat back, think it was around £450. Your paying for quality and peace of mind. I hate doing things twice

That's exactly what i got, except i had the cat put on, didn't want to fart around when it comes to m.o.t time or incase i get stopped by VOSA lol

is it a straight fit or does this also need modifying?
im planning on fitting it my self so any info would be great.

I would expect it to fit straight on really, best thing is to ask Jeff at Pipewerx, he'll answer all your questions lol Last thing you want is to buy it then mess around when it comes to fitting it

Cant fault pipewerx at all for my downpipe & decat :icon_thumright:

This is XS powers response:

Hi, out of all we have sold we have had a handfull that people have reported they needed to drill the turbo flange, they all come from the same jig so its difficult to see why some have no issues and a few have,
Kind regards

cheers for the help guys, ive just disconnected the charge pipe to have a look in case it was a crack in the manifold and found out the mani/turbo flange is only held on by 2 bolts and gases are blowing out of the the third hole.

how the hell its come out i have no idea, does anyone know the bolt size i need to replace it?
cheers.

Think it may be quite common for the mani bolts to come lose over time, sure ive seen a few threads regarding it.

I wish I had that problem the other day when I needed to take them three bolts out, they were WELDED on im sure lol, such a pain to get them out.

My exhaust mani is also cracked and thats a very common problem on these 1.8T engines
