How low can i go?

Hey all,
Bought a new Audi A3 Black Edition 170ps a few weeks ago, loving it. Lovely car to drive and much more solid than my golf!.
I have a question if i may, sorry if its in the wrong place but im a newbie...
I want to stick a set of wheels on shortly, will i get away with 19's? if so which offset will be best and can i get away with lowering it without catching? and how much? 40ml?
Any advice or help, appreciated.

I've got 19's with ET45, running 215/35/19 tyres

I've got my Weitec's 65mm down and don't get any problems with the 215 tyres

You can go a lot lower as N8 has recently proved, but 65 on coilovers is enough for me

Hey Smudge, thanks for the reply...
Just curious but how much and which coilovers you went for? are they fully adjustable or just height adjustable?
What i want to try to avoid is having 19's with too hard a ride because i do alot of miles.. i just want it to look nice, can you send me some pics of yours at all? unless you have some posted already in the 'RIMS' section i can look at?
WHat type of wheels are they? Looks v nice mate.

Weitec's were about £500 i think, only height adjustable

N8 has some coilies for sale that are fully adjustable i think!

My Weitec suspension is better than the S-Line in terms of comfort

Im only caucious as i had a 2008 Golf before my A3 and I had RS4 replicas on 19" with only a 40ml drop and i got loads of rubbing.. not nice..
So by the looks of things, with 19's on the A3 i can go s low as i want without rubbing?
N8 - That looks class, ive never seen a car so low.. lol.. Must be a hard ride though surely? ie no comfort AT ALL?! Is that an A3? sorry i cant tell its that low and looks completely different. It looks the same colour as mine. (apart from the purple that is!)

It's a Sportback (5 door model) that's on air ride

So it's not that low all the time, it can be raised and lowered at the flick of a switch

No offense taken! I appreciate that, i want to try and have a unique look for my A3 too, so i wont be picking the same wheels.
I havent seen any A3's where i live with RS6 wheels on theirs...
Will post some before and after pics once ive finished.
