At long last - it's been a looong six/seven months of hunting for the right A3 (I'm a fussy git!), and Yesterday I finally found one. Here's a side-shot I stole from the dealers site :

It's the 2.0 TDi S-Line (140) on an '07 plate.

All I want now is for next Saturday to hurry up !!!

know exactly how you feel. bought a 2006 2.0T last wknd, and had to wait until Thursday to pick it up. well worth the wait tho, i absolultely love it.

congrats on the car. what plans do you have for it?

Thanks.

At the moment, the only plans I have is to collect it (one step at a time is my motto)

First thing I wanna do is give it a real damn good clean....lol I'm into detailing, and have a Makita Rotary; so that's got to be first on the list to get rid off the swirls left from the previous owner.

After that, I'm not sure.....ooh, tell a lie, spacers would probably come into the equation.

I'm gonna give the stereo some listening to for a while as well, just to see if I'm happy with it. If not, I have a Pioneer Sub in the attic (from a Bora I used to have) which I may stick in the boot. Not sure on this part yet though - I'll see.

A remap could lie in the future list - I'll see how I get on with the 140bhp first...it may be just enough to satisfy my driving to be honest. We'll see about that at a later date.

Anything else you can recommend ?

Great car and worth the long wait eh!

Dont meet N8 lol, you will end up with a mod list as long as your arm!

Enjoy the detailing and the car when you pick it up.

yeh but N8, give the lad a chance lol, yours is alot to aim for straight away! Kriminal, if you end up with a car like N8s you will be a happy boy!

Thats the plan :eiertritt:

Eeeeek! :lmfao:

Unfortunately I don't get home from work until late too, and as it's my A3 Eve, I'll have to be getting all the stuff out of the TT (like the wheels, engine, seats, etc....don't tell the dealer though!).

Nah, seriously, I'd love to meet up but I really will be pushed for time.

Some other time maybe ?.....I'd love to see your motor - I bet it's a stunner

I'm just gonna be happy to get the damn car on Saturday - it's been a long wait, and hard work trying to get the right one. I couldn't believe how difficult it's been....I could understand when I was looking for a TT, as there were quite a few boxes I needed ticked, but I didn't think I was being THAT fussy with the A3 (or maybe I was, I guess).

Hey, nothing wrong with waiting for the right one, best way I feel. I also held out for mine and am happy I did. Good luck Saturday and dont forget to post some better pics of it.

Nice choice and to do list. What are the options you waited out for ?

Nothing complex really, it was more of a 'what I don't want' list...lol

The one thing that was REALLY difficult to not get hold off was one without the phone holder that's screwed into the dash. I couldn't believe how many A3 owners would really be that interested in having a phone holder in their car. It's not that I have anything against people who have phone holders, it's the damn holes they leave behind when you want it removed.

Oh, and then there's the fact that I simply HAD to have a S-Line. Trying to find one in Bristol was like looking for a needle in a haystack, as I also wanted to make sure it was the Sportback as I'll need five doors.

Mad isn't it ?!, but that's all I really wanted

Oh, and I did have issues trying to find the right colour for me. I'm a fussy so-and-so when it comes to bodywork, so that was a major part of the equation too.

Makes perfect sense Kriminal. Like you and N8 I could not handle that bracket in the dash.

Good thing you found your ideal car in the end! 5 says to go now.

Just one thing, I think you'll find it's 65 hours and 6 minutes to go now....not that I'm counting off course :whistle2:
