there are other areas they could make money, like fags and booze, the welthy etc etc.. why f*ck everyone up the ****??

Amazing realy, when you listen to peoples reactions on the radio etc - Ah i'm so angry, blah, blah. What did they expect?

In real terms this shouldn't have a massive impact on us, in the pocket.

Whats realy fcuked me off though is all these public sector workers moaning about a pay-freeze, talking of striking! Get fcukin real, those of us in the private sector have had our jobs at risk for months - let alone pay freezes....
Thatcher should've smashed the unions off in the 80's - They do nothing for the vast majority but cause hasle for the vast majority..!

Lets all be thankful the L*bour didn't get back in! Imagine it now - They where like a chav with a credit card....
And yet they have the bare faced cheek to try and be smart ***** about the cuts! ****News Flash L*bhore**** You caused all of this!

Amazing how stupid and ignorant a large part of out nation are!

here here!! :applaus:

Seems ***** it going to 20% but when it was lowered to 15% it was bound to go up. Personally although its a bad thing, long term i think it'll be good. Labour left it in a mess, conservatives are tidying things up. Atleast fuel is ok:)

that's what labour do, and that's what conservatives do, ying and yang, they are an almost perfect example of a symbiotic relationship, if fact, they are like different species, so it is perfect.

Be honest. Did anyone REALLY notice when it went to 15%? 20% VAT = +50p on £20 of shopping...

Only really notice if you buy a new car...

Alistair

Atleast fuel is ok:)

Except the 3p per litre rise due to the extra 2.5% VAT.

Although, to be fair, I thought it was a good budget. Gotta love the Torries for towing the line that its NOT ok to be on the brew. Cutting benefits gets that message accross. Labour talk about it hitting the most vunerable. Well get a ****** job then. The Torries are making it better for the disabled, and pensioners, so everyone else should get a job no? And cutting housing benefit to a max of £400 a week. Well, if your in a house costing more than £1600 a month, you shouldn't be on the brew. My 4 bed detached costs less than that to buy.

I liked before the budget when they were talking about Osborne speaking to previous Torry chancelors. None of them had to be quite so drastic with their cuts. But pretty much EVERY one of them had to clean up Labours mess.

i been "on the brew" for 8 weeks now due to being made redundant without warning. Yes i could get a job in maccas or such like crap jobs but it will not pay for my car, house, wife and 2 kids. Its not as easy and "get a fecking job then". Im either over qualified or "high risk" because im undergoing treatment at king spinal hospital.

What am i and 1000`s of other working men who have been made redundant supposed to do?

think some peoples perception of others on benifits should be re-thought. Were not all cider drinking, drug dealing gobshites that are skanking off of the state.

So are we meant to pay for your car, house, wife and 2 kids then? I would get the job in maccas, or some other crappy job to keep me going until I found something better.

I'm not suggesting that all brew monkeys are "cider drinking, drug dealing gobshites". Just that there are always different ways of looking at it.

To be fair, yes, everyone is different. Some would rather do nothing than do something they see as beneath them, or not paying enough (same thing I guess), as the country "owes" them their survival. Not me. I would do the "beneath me" job until something better came up. I did it before, gutting chickens, for 3 years, until something better came up. In the meantime, I paid for my own car, wife, and house (no kids), and paid tax so others, who couldn't actually work, didn't have to.

More over, I realise for some its circumstances out-with their control. Been there myself also. But I never thought it was OK to be on the brew, and thats the mentality they are trying to stop.

congrats fella. however maccas do not pay enough for me to look after my family. get me a job mate and ill do it. think what you want, i aint no dosser, i have worked all my life up until now so whats the problem?? If you feel your paying for my car house wife and kids then thank you very much! your my hero! x x x

Maybe all the tax i have payed through my working life if paying for me to live now whilst i look for a job. think of it like that if its going to help you sleep better sweetheart. Im saying nothing more on it as you have obviously got your head stuck somewhere smelly so this will just turn into a bitching thread.

I didn`t notice it go to 15% nor back to 17.5%, saw lots of people arguing over wanting 2.5 % off when it wasn`t that amount in savings. So £300 would really put you off spending 11k on a car ??? no way.

I would have liked to have seen them hit benifits harder as well, I don`t mind paying more so long as everyone has to.

Fed up of listening to chavs saying they are not getting enough, oooo I can`t afford to run our car and we may have to cut back on a holiday. Says the family with 4 or 5 kids that havn`t worked in years................

Alpine I feel for you and its a subject I have discussed with friends, we came up with that if you had been in employment for say 10 years then you should get 90% of your average wage in your first month of unemloyment then 80% etc month on month. As as it stands they expect you to lose years of savings before they help you and actually what is the std dole worth to a working family that have had a run of bad luck

they need to do something better for genuine working folk that have just been shat on. Thats quite a good idea fingermouse, just a shame the people in power dont think sense. I cant agree more about the chavs wining coz they cant take there 5 kids to butlins this year because the government have cut there giros. This system deffo does suck balls as it does not help people qualified in a profession find something in there field. its all about statistics i think not about actually helping someone get a CV etc. For those that have been working for years and have never needed a CV let alone writen one, seems the employment world flys round CV`s nowdays and not the individual. Sorry, your over qualified, ill employ the monkey instead. thats how i see it with my last 8 weeks experience anyways.

Here here guys, lets not make this personal and keep the debate neutral! ok girls. :p

For me though, the increase in vat means designing and printing a whole new set of menus, so call it around £500, then increasing the price of my meals, which can be a headache, you need to factor in inflation and vat increase, plus all my overheads shoot up as a result, it will be +5%, as we are on 15% vat are we not? The joys of being a shop owner, and I'm sure there are many out there.

yup its a bad sytemm when someone with 3 kids is better off not working than actually working or close enough that its not worth working.

Id pay all benifits onto a card that could only buy essential food i.e non lux items, clothes shops and energy companies. Oh but that would be degrading but then again they could always work.

also for benifits and to cut public sector people should sweep the streets/ empty bins to get any credit at all so that saves on bin men still been paid for a job thats got a lot easier with wheelie bins
