S3 decat,

Can I ask why you're doing just a decat matey?

It's the downpipe on the S3 thats the major restriction - not the cats, they flow very well for standard cats to be fair....
 
so keeping the standard cat and enlarging the downpipe is the way to go is it ?, If so can you recommend any ?.
no logic to it realy just sounded like a good idea lol.
 
Best thing to get is either a Pipewerx downpipe and sports cat, or a Pipewerx downpipe and decat.

You can't have a 3" downpipe and the standard cats, as the S3 has twin cats as standard.
 
If your after a decat i have just took one off my car replaced for pipewerx downpipe & decat as going hybrid turbo. PM me if your interested.
 
Welly mate you seem to have a few bits and bobs done what clutch do you run ?. Im trying to decide weather i need one or not lol, I cant see me going more than 300bhp so dont want to spend silly silly money .

OEM clutch for me matey, and the trusty dual mass flywheel. I am planning to replace the dual mass with a solid flywheel when it comes to clutch time.... but the OEM clutch seems to be fine.
 
How much are you running ??. Ive seen different varieations of clutch and fly, Everyone says helix and light fly but i mean im looking at 1200 plus for that, Im looking at the sachs clutch kit that euro do and maybe get a billet fly made up or something.
 
Well based on the Airflow I get it's ~270. The torque load however is quite savage, and the clutch handles it fine.

Sadly not mate, I shall be going on holiday the following day so I have to give it a miss this year. I've not done well so far this year with meets sadly, I like to put faces to names!
 
Yer tell me about it, Haven't met anyone off here yet so gti should be good fun. I wen't to the bmw meet up at ace caf the other week , Car very similar to yours yellow and black thought it was you , however it wasn't lol.

Car if off the road with all the work done on it. So havnt taken out for spin but fmic to go on and remap next month should be a bit nipper than before lol

Less build quality. Yes. Doesn't fit properly? Indeed it does not.

The Pipewerx one is expensive. Yes I agree.

But it's expensive because it isn't grade A *****. I've seen both the Pipewerx one and the XS Power ones first hand.

Trust me. It's worth spending the little extra money to get a product that fits.
 
Lol ok bud point taken , I may get clutch sorted anyway first.
