Full Milltek require re-map?

Time has come for some tweeks and upgrades...Need more power :eyebrows:

I have a full Milltek system sitting in the grage waiting to be fitted. I have been told that once the Milltek (with 200 cell cat) is fitted without a remap I am likely to see an 'error' light on the dashboard. Is this true? Can I not have the exhaust fitted without a remap?

I will get a remap done, but not now and want to feel the gains with the exhaust first...Then I will decide on the remap.

Yes you will see a light on the dash, its £100 to go stage 2 with revo. That removes the warning light.

Not sure on what gains there are on stage 2 but I think its mainly to remove the light.

like stated you will get an error, youre also not likely to feel the full brunt of the exhaust as the stg 2 will harness the extra flow and give you even more

When I purchased my car after delivery my Audi dealer offered me a milltek exhaust. Unless they know how to switch the dash light off I don't see why they would sell me something that would come up with an error.

i had my milltek tbe exhaust fitted two months before i did a remap and i never had any dash lights on. shouldn't be a problem as long as you have cat. there are little gains with milltek without remap but they are noticeable. but the best part is that turbo spools faster.

some dealers do mtm remapping mate so its entirely possible

I can't see any reason at all why a full Milltek TBE with 200CPSI cat would throw an emissions error. As long as have you have a cat and the sensors are plugged in it wont cause any errors.
Without a stage 2 map there wont be a huuuge benefit but your turbo will spool up quicker.

I had my MT TBE system fitted a few months before my remap and I had absolutely no errors. According to the REVO guys that did my remap and my exhaust i actually got a power loss from just the MT being fitted, as the car is setup to run the std cat. Thats what they said anyway...........

Best thing to do would be to just get stage 1 done at the same time. :moa:

????????????????????????????????????
So what your saying is that Revo have developed a Stage 2 map just to remove your EML? Oh and it's £50 to go from Stage 1 to Stage 2 mate..

no the map allows for the extra equipment too, i think everyones getting confused from a cat back a thru cat and sport cats

Thanks for the discussions and feedback. Mine will be with the 200 Cell cat replacement that Milltek do. On my previous car the M3 CSL I replaced the full system with 100 cell cats and no issues with lights, running lean/rich etc. So was little confused when I heard this. I suppose I'll just get it fitted and see what happens. Maybe then I will be more keen to get a remap. Quite fancy trying MTM. I have read albout GIAC and Revo, but like the MTM racing history, pedigree and knowledge.

Just an update. I went to AMD and got the full system fitted with 200 Cell cats. First time I have use AMD and I can only be impressed. Quick turn around, professional, knowledgeable and did me a great deal.

Now I have run the car for a week with the system, first impressions are that it is quieter than I wanted (even though non-res fitted), quality is very good and performance is marginally increased. Turbo seems to boost sooner and harder. It would appear that the car gains speed quicker because of this. And importantly, NO emisisons or warning light on the dash.

So just to decide on a remap now.... Revo or MTM? Hmmm.

I just got the full milltek non-res on my car only difference is mine is a de-cat,it's pretty loud so the cat must act as a silencer as well

Have you looked at GIAC's stuff? that's what I'm planning on having loaded to my car

To be honest theres too many choices on re-maps just make sure you choose something with power delivery characteristics that will suit you and a good upgrade path if you plan on adding new parts!

This is what i thought,if your removing cat then it would bring light on but shouldnt with a cat replacement

Got another 2 vids of the exhaust that I can't keep to myself! Will upload in about 2 hours if anyones interested!

2 short clips, you still can't hear it properly as the camera on the phone that took both vids doesn't seem to be able to pick up the noise properly :( still sounds ok though!

you need some vids of it up and running under load it'll i give us real impression...go thru a tunnel! There's a nice one under MCR Airport Runway!

Yeah I'll definetly get one as soon as the new intake is on, my cars sitting in the driveway with no intake atm!

No intake! have you started it up...your turbo will sound mental!
Also will be interesting to see how your car feels compared to Haseebs Stage 2.5 MTM and Muneeb's Revo Stage 2+. hmmm

Yeah that would be a good duel GIAC vs MTM vs Revo suppose theres too many variables to make a fair judgement but it would still be interesting!
Think I can sense another Glasgow meet coming along
