Hey guys,

Some of you may remember i started a thread a month or so ago about a particular A3 i found... Well, i went down to look at it a couple of weeks ago and couldn't stop smiling whilst driving home :yum:. A few of members on here said it was over priced, well i managed to get it down quite a lot :yum:

I had my previous car 6 years and will be sad to see it go, spent a fair bit of cash on it too. Wish i could keep it! :(

Here are some pics...

car looks nice mate. hope the 2nd pic from bottom is showing the drivers door not quite shut properly and nothing else!!

Ye mate i didn't shut the drivers door properly.

Rare in Sprint blue, good choice!

Like your Golf too, tidy, should have left the mirror bases black though :)

like the golf mate but the a3 is deffinatly more to my taste enjoy it

Took me a while to find a tdi in this colour. Would have liked a few more options such as xenons, but can add this at a later date.

Haha i wanted to leave the mirror bases black, but because the Golf came originally with the SE trim, the bumper and door strips were black. When i tolder the painter to spray these in red, along with the Anni kit, he must have thought spray everything red that is black. Muppet!

Prefer the A3 too.. Plan to keep it standard.. But erm... Well.. I'm not too sure how long that'll last

Pleased you got the price down mate. Main thing is your are happy so enjoy it now you have it! Love the color and the seats!

I have no doubt this forum will suck you into the modding trap! Wonder what you will end up doing...

Thanks mate.

Haha! Well as i said, i plan to keep it standard for a while as it's quite a big step up from my previous 110hp TDI.. But if you take a look at the spec of my old Golf in my sig, you'll see i'm into modding a lot. As for the A3, funds are a bit tight at the moment but, bi-xenons and eibachs are at the top of the list :)

I had no intentions of doing anything to my car until i flicked around this site a few times then it was a little thing here and a minor thing there.

Somehow there is always something else that catches the eye.....

Bi-Xenons are quite a bit a work if I recall. Something about changing the bumper for wash jets and the water pump... Check out the threads; lots of detail. I just have a duf memory.

Haha ye i know what you mean, the little mods soon start adding up.

Indeed, the bi-xenons retrofit will be a lot of work, but i think the end results are well worth it.. Just about saving up for parts now!

Hey people,

Been a while since i updated this page. So i couldn't go very long before i started the modding! Was a tough decision between lowering it and retrofitting xenons. I purchased a bi-xenon housing from Phill, the original plan was to get hold of another housing then get a set of ballasts, bulbs etc from Hungary (ebay). But, i found a guy who was selling a complete set, so i just got them from him. They were in excellent condition and at a bargain price so couldnt resist. Anyways here are some pics:

A set of 6k bulbs :)

After speaking to Nige (NHN) and Lee (1WheelOnly) we found out my A3 already has the high-end electrics board AND control module!!! Thanks a lot guys for helping out with that, really appreciate it :applaus:

Can't wait to them on!

very nice motor mate very rare car in sprint blue as said and my personal fav colour that audi do my mate has got a rs4 advant in sprint blue and it looks the dogs bits haha , nice looking golf aswell tho i thought it was a anniversary edition when i first saw it but then saw your sig , i wish i could have found a car with xenons my old car had them they are so nice to drive with

you've got a really nice motor mate... if i'd known about it i might have snapped it up before you had a chance! just feel a new set of wheels is in order :p

Thanks mate  Ye it took a bit of an age to find a TDI in this colur but got there in the end :)

I agree, a decent set of wheels would make it stand out. Im keeping an eye out for a set of 19inch CH's in hyper silver. Damn they're hard to find in this colour!

Seeing things at night I'd imagine. :p

:haha:

Whats the 6k bulbs for dude?

Hey Phill, 6k's are to replace the OEM 4.5k's d1s's. Not a huge fan of the OEM light colour so thought i'd add slight icy blue tint to them.

What do you think?

Ah I get it now.

The old 8L halogens were appauling so the Xenons were a massive improvement for me. Have never thought to compare it to anything :)

let us know how you get on fitting the headlights..the front end would look spot on with xenons.

I do love S-Lines in Sprint blue, looks a bit cooler than on S3's, because it's almost like it's not meant to be, even though it's an official factory job. Hard to say which suits an A3 more, Suzuka, (Pearl?) White, or Sprint. Looks even better with Xenons now, seriously nice motor though fella!

Thanks Joe.

Will do, i'll get some pics up once done. Can't wait!! haha

I know Nige (NHN) is a very busy man at the moment, so whenever is most convenient for him i'll be ready.

sorry havent gotten round to replying sooner mate, your car is looking cracking as do your new lights i just need to get a hold of the guy you forwarded me onto for the lights weve both been busy

Thanks Phil!

Ah he's a busy man, i spoke to him last weekend to arrange a date for your old housing.. But as it's wedding season for the both of us it's been difficult to find a date that we're both free.

I'm giving him a call tomorrow, you want me to mention/find out about anything for you?

yeah sure if you would that would be great, ive got to dig his number out again as i upgraded phones and forgot to bring it with me, just ask him when would be the best availible weekend for him to meet i keep meaning to ask for photos of the facelift adaptives so that i can check theyre right too if you wouldnt mind asking him to drop me photos to my email (jericho_hobo@hotmail.com)

Phil, spoke to him earlier. I've let him know that you need some pics and forwarded your email to him. Hopefully you'll hear from him soon.

PM'd his number to you too bud.

Hey people,

I think this thread is long overdue an update. So since purchasing my A3 last June, I’ve changed a few things.

Rear number plate and interior lights were the first to be altered.

Next, fitted a set of 50mm H&R lowering springs purchased from Damian at DPM...

Followed by an S3 front bumper which was already painted in Sprint Blue. Although I like the standard S3 front end, I wanted to personalise it slightly.

Found a company local to me - EMTuning that specialise in ECU remaps, HID/LED light kits and carbon detailing. I wanted the lower silver section of the bumper wrapped in carbon vinyl – explained this to the guy at EM Tuning, and as you can imagine, was told that the ‘fork’ or ‘vertical’ bits within this section would be difficult.

I was really impressed with other intricate parts he had wrapped so decided to go for it – maybe enthusiasm got the better of me lol.

Couple of days later, I received a call letting me know the bumper was complete. Admittedly I was a bit worried it wouldn’t look that great. To say I was surprised by the results would be an understatement. I the quality and accuracy of the work is amazing! Wasn’t too expensive either ;) I would definitely recommend him.

I have his contact number so PM me if interested or you could drop him a mail at sales@emtuning.co.uk. He mentioned he’s currently setting up a website so keep a look out for it – Welcome To EMTuning - High-Performance Vehicle Tuning, ECU remaps, HID and LED Lighting Kits.

Fitted the bumper myself using this guide - http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?3805360 Very helpful

Anyways, enough with the bumper, next the 6k bi-xenons were fitted!! For some reason I was looking forward to installing these the most – even more than the bumper haha!

The retrofit was carried out by the guys at Home - Vw & Audi Sat Nav, Bluetooth , TV Tuners, Cruise Control Installations UK or Hazzy Dayz as some say. The install took well over 4 hours lol but worth wait. The guys are really friendly and knowledgeable so can highly recommend them.
