Can someone please help, my passenger footwell is soaked through.

I thought it would be a leak, but found it strange as it didnt leak all thought the bad weather.

I had a feeling it may be because of the aircon, so took the glovebox out and left the car running with the A/C on full. Just taken it out and have 100% found the source of all the water.

Its the Blower motor

Theres a drain hole in the bottom that ive circled.

So whats next?????? Do I need to replace the motor? It runs fine just leaks alot.

Is there something blocked thats making this fill up with water??

Anyone, any ideas?

dont know about the motor problem mate, but seriously, get the passanger footwell DRY ASAP!!!!! your comfort module is down there and youll have bigger problems if thats wet, trust me

Water should never make it as far as the motor tbh, it's either a matrix leak, or the heat exchanger spill is blocked.

I think if you rmove the motor you can access it, its what creates the puddle under the pass side of your car when aircon is on and the car is idling

it controls alrm and some othere things ie door looking and stuff i think

Hmmmm, right spose id better take it off and have a look.

Check the seal around the air box under the bonnet, top right hand cornet looking at the engine. This happen to a friend cars and the seal had perished, and water got into the foot well.

I second that mate i've just had a new module fitted, after investigation work the bill was £385 + £115 tomorrow for audi to reprogram my keys and get a new immobiliser code only available from them apparently.

Hope its ok

Right ive had the motor out, theres nothing but dust above it no signs of water ingress.

Looking up through the appature where the motor was I can see the Pollen filter, so maybe your right but surley if that was leaking then the filter would be wet.

Is the bulkhead dry? Just wondering if the drain holes under the battery are blocked and it's dripping through.

There was a recall on some B6s I think for the phenum chamber, which is the bit where the pollen filter sits, because the seals failed and it caused water in the footwell. Audi did the fix on mine automatically as part of the service a couple of years ago, Not sure if its what you are seeing but it might be worth asking if this is the problem?

the recall is just to remove the drain plugs to stop them geting blocked. Your problem is the pollen filter housing seal is leaking and causing an ingress through the fan motor. If left it will fill up the footwell and damage the convenence control unit. Remove the wiper arms and scuttle panel to gain access to the filter housing and have it replaced. common fault and parts dept will have them in stock.

i no all cars have faults but it seems audi suffer alot with the water problem and i no they recalled some b6 for it before so was just wondering if it was the same kind of thing.

i know bud.. they all suffer badly with leaks. Its not a bad job to do though, you can always seal it if you dont want to replace

well i dont seem to have the problem yet or maybe it has been done before i got the car how do you no if it needs changing about from having wet feet lol

This has reoccured again. Ive had the pollen filter out then back in. Ive sprayed it with a hose pipe and nothing. Then when the weather gets hot I put the air con is on full.

Im thinking its the AC leak off. Lots of cars have the AC drain onto the deck. I think there must either be a split or blockage causing water to leak onto the top of the fan.

Anyone any ideas where the leak off starts or stops?

Realy need to find this as im sick of drying the footwell out.
