I'm sure I read somewhere (possibly on here), that there is a slight difference between the reps and the real thing. From memory, and I could be wrong here, I think that lip you see running either side of each spoke only goes half way down the spoke on OEM wheels, but goes all the way down on reps.

not the case on my reps mate, the lips only goes half way down. Oem should have audi stamps etc on the rear

I've asked the bloke for the part number that should be marked under the caps (if correct) - That should go some way to clarifying whether or not they're reps right?

Ah, looks like I was talking ***** then! And to the OP, if you do have physical access to the wheels, the stamps on the inside of each wheel will indeed confirm whether they are genuine or not.

looking into it mate you are right, but all the way down are genuine, and half way are reps. Hence explaining mine being reps.

Kk, well I've been offered these for £325 - 4 new tyres, some slight kerbing round the edges. Worth it or not?

yup they are reps.... and £325 is too much for reps, they are heavy and like said, dont have the line all the way down...some reps dont have the spokes pushing slightly in towards the hub either....ie they are flat faced and the spokes are perfectly straight

you could argue the costs of the new tyres but they dont look like a named brand from that picture.....

i paid under £300 for mine and they were in original cond with good 4-5mm pirrellis on, just keep an eye out for refurbed ones too cos most places refurb them in normal silver when the original alloys had a mirror finish to them - i had to replace one tyre with a budget as it had a slight tyre wall damage....let me tell you, one budget tyre on the back is very noticeable, replaced them since and have pirelli rooso's all way round, massive difference ;)

I had them on my audi and like people have said the oem ones have the lip the whole way around like mine did. dont buy them. They do really suit the a3's though so find some oem ones.!

If it's £325 for the wheels and tyres above then no. The tyres are different, 2 budgets, 1 Avon and a Yokahama. Ideally you'd want all the same, the two in the middle are not new. £250 max for the those above:)

Yeah good shout, not sure what brand the tyres are, the spokes do look like they push in towards the hub which is the same as OEM ones but like you say £325 for reps that may need refurbing...... not really worth it........ I'll wait :)

these are off my old audi. Notice the lip goes all around the spoke.

Suit it really well.! I do miss it i admit!

The wheels without the lip all round are RS4 wheels or reps, the wheels with the lip all round are RSTT's wheels or reps

Yeah they look class, they 5x100 PCD aswell out of curiousity?

Be careful as just because they have a lip all round doesn't mean they are genuine

I thought those wheels came standard on the tqs every tqs ive seen has had them on.? When taken them off i have seen the audi logo though.
ask the person to photo each wheel with the audi logo on to varify there oem, but go for different ones as the tyre mix isnt good.

all 8L cars will be 100x5 unless your running hub adaptors...which you would be able to see as they will be about 25mm minimum normally....

Emery yours were the 17" version werent they? they look kinda small them doood

Yes they are mate, i didnt pick them though would of got 18's :D thats why i think they came as standard as there 17's ? plus got the logo on them. Some wheel man said oh there the special edition 10 spoke model arnt they, after a simple count of 9 i knew they wasnt, so dont have a clue what he was on about. are the rstt 10 spoke or something.?

nope im sure mine are 9 spoke....... there were an option on both the A3 and S3........ not sure if the 18's were an option on the A3

forgive my ignorance, but how can a wheel have an offset of 35 to 42 mm.

surely its fixed?

OEM is 32mm correct?

a 42mm offset will probably make the rims sit more in than normal? I would have thought you'd be wanting a lower offset than 32mm?

It's true that a set of wheels can only be of a fixed offset, maybe it's a set of mix and match wheels with offsets between ET35-42 ?!, if so, then run....quickly.

My Reps had the lip go all the way round, like said there are different types of reps, without taking the centre cap off you wouldn't know the difference though did bubble up quite badly...

Got myself some brand new genuine RSTT's without tyres, never been on a car for £470 which I didn't think was to bad.

That is a good price Leggy, I love the look of RSTT's I think Audi should of fitted all S3's with them as standard!

I got a set of genuine RSTTs for £200 plus £35 quid per corner for a refurb. decent price i thought...

Yeah thats a good price, its alright if you can get them cheap enough to then get a refurb, some people want silly money for tatt...
