Finally completed my K03s upgrade. There is quite a difference compared to my K03 Revo. However, assuming my K03 was producing ~190bhp, I can't help but feel disappointed with the figures this new setup produced (211bhp, 230lbft) on the dyno, especially after spending all the £££ & effort on everything that lead up to this point (Turbo + TIP + downpipe & sports CAT + Remap + New Clutch & Flywheel) :(

It was quite clear that my OEM exhaust back is the restricting factor, but somehow I can't see changing the exhaust will produce the 232+bhp 250+lbft that was initially predicted. Maybe I was putting too high hopes on the K03s...

Base on the setup in my signature, is this a reasonable figure? What other mods on top of the exhaust will bring me closer to the numbers? Will I need a new map if I were to add mods like FMIC to the setup?

Sorry for the many questions

I am suprised you managed to get in with Rtech, i have been waiting months...

On the other points i would think you will need the map tweaking when you add a FMIC or a better flowing exhaust, there are other members on here with around 230 BHP and eqiuvelent torque figures

sounds a little down to be honest, Did Nick suggest it's the exhaust that's holding it back?

If so I'd consider that a little odd, as a few chaps on ukmkivs are running a 3' DP/Decat into the standard cat back system, and producing 230bhp on Rtechs rollers. this is with an FMIC though.

Without the FMIC, especially in winter, the standard side mount will heat soak VERY quickly and you'll loose power

I have aready had a first attempt at the map on a month ago, but it was a lesser map that was put on due to issues with clutch & N75. So the second round was a relatively quick one... maybe that is why Nick managed to slot me in...

Id suggest getting the turbo revs kit, you would of no doubt drove there. It is quite warm so when you got there heat soak would have kicked in, and you can easily loose 20bhp 10% from heat soak. Id not waste your money on a cat back exhaust, just spend £250 on the turbo revs kit, kit is £200 but you need two other things i think.!

Thanks Pawn. Yeah, Nick says its the exhaust that is limiting.... Maybe the FMIC is what I will go for next...

Funny world of modding ;) it just never ends :)

So you reckon the map will need tweaking after the exhaust and FMIC upgrade?

turbo rev kit? is it an air intake system or intercooler device?

Its a fmic mate, thats what prawn, plunky got, and many others. Id go with just the fmic though, spend £600 on something else.

yup i agree with Nick...that does sound odd as the rear box isnt supposed to be too restrictive.....ive recently bought the TDi middle section from Euro parts on Nicks advice to delete the middle box but keep the rear, £10 for the part and £30+vat to be fitted as the DP needs reducing from 2.5" to 2.25" - other than that id have said the FMIC was more important as everyone seems to have said already....

have you had that centre section fitted then now Tim? How does it sound with a downpipe and straight through centre on the standard back box?

Do you notice any gains from using the TDI exhaust? Do you have the part no. of the TDI centre piece and where I can get the 2.5" - 2.25" reducer from Tim?

not fitted yet chaps...... going on the jollies next week and the plan is to get 4 new tyres and exhaust all done at the same time.... also the wipers have packed up so another cost haha - glad it aint mine i can tell ya :)
