Guys

I have been offered a brand new forge shortshift for good money. Is it worth putting it into the s3? Will I notice a decent difference?

Easy to fit?

Thanks

yes you will. i think s3 should have that kind of shifter (shorter) straight from factory. i've got it for a year now and i like it! it makes changing gears easier and faster! i've shortened front-back throw as much as it was possible, but side2side i think i left it somewhere at the middle. the best thing is that you can adjust it how you like it :racer:
i've got it fitted at the shop but with the instructions i think you could do it on your own.

Can you get these for the A4's? I'd love one for mine, but found very little info on them. There was one guide on A4mods.com, but that's it.

Cheers guys - is it ok to just have the short shift for now and then maybe the side to side one?

What are the best settings to have it on?

Any problems with them at all?

yes it is..but the oem side2side bit is made of plastic so i would advice changing it sooner or later.
as i said. played with few setups, and the best IMHO is with front back full shortened, and side2side somewhere around the middle (if you go shorter than it's difficult to change gears precisely).
only problem i had with it was selecting third gear (maybe again facelift problem) but played with side2side setting and ended with perfect setup. hope this helps.

Bought the short shift kit last night as well as brand new forge/samco coolant hoses! :)

Hopefully get them fitted this weekend!

Thanks for the advice chaps!

i hope you went for blue hoses. pics would be great once you fit them.
you won't be dissapointed with short shift. :beerchug:

The hoses were black mate with the forge lettering - blue would have looked a bit tacky I think lol

I didnt have a choice anyway, they were second hand, unused.

Tacky?! No way! I would have white ones on mine!

Noooo!

Not bought them yet but looking to get some, dont think Forge do the in white though!

What can I say??? Wow!! What a mod the short shift is!! Feels great!! Just makes me want to drive the life out of the car!!! Really really cannot wait for my clutch so I can then get the ITG intake!! A mod well worth it!!

Thanks for the advice guys!!

you're welcome. i'm glad that you're happy with it :beerchug:

Keep us posted on the clutch mate.

Interested to hear peoples experiences living with SACHS + OEM DMF
