a bit more about me now some of you I’m sure will think I’m crazy for buying a car like this at 18 but there is a method behind the madness firstly I had a motorcycle accident in October 2007 which has left me permanently paralyzed so getting back on a bike is not really a option but can be done I’m sure, so a quick “safe” car was next on the list had to be reliable so that ment something from VAG group being a disabled driver ment on top of dealer discount and getting free road tax I also was exempt from the dreaded VAT on the car so I could aim for a car that was well out of most 18 year olds price range , I went to my local Audi dealership (Bury St.Edmunds) and I can honest say best service I have received anywhere more than helpful I have been involved with being 5 cars now not all mine I might add, and the service at Audi was superb the test drive in the S3 the dealer took me out in and he drove as the vehicle obviously didn’t have hand controls so I could not drive it made up my mind and I placed a order early January car arrived mid may but because of insurance costs I waited till the first of June to pick it up and I have not stopped smiling since hopefully the pictures below have uploaded properly.

lovely car mate, just take it easy, very fast car for an 18 y.old... i let my bro drive my std s3 and he cacked his pants :w00t:

out of interest what did you step up from??

wish u well to drive her

yer i nearly cacked my pants to lol , i stepped up from a vauxhall astra 1.6 sxi easy-tronic i had it on the motability scheme and was a nightmare was in the garage more than i had it which was no good for work as they could not provide a courtesy car so i got out of the motability scheme and got this, which touch wood apart from the puncture in the first day wont go wrong.

just took a few pictures of the hand controls i use to drive the car as it may help someone in my position when chossing a car and hand controls, they are jeff gosling push pull (pull to accelerate push to brake) with a intergrated indicator and horn plus steering ball/peg

That's interesting, I did wonder how it all worked.. A guy who
worked round the corner from me had a 997 turbo with hand controls.. Different type though I think...

It's so nice that you can enjoy your cars still :) actually looks fun!!

Very good choice of spec overall, like it a lot!!!

And that is an all mighty jump up! You must have cacked it! Just like my bro did haaha!!

it's a very simple system really there are so many different types and variations

i would say it's more fun than driving a car normally more controlled with your hands aswell

yer a huge leap dont think it will be like that when i get my next car unless there is enough in the fund for a R35 GTR lol.

cheers PaulAr can see you have had a lot of nice cars in the past :)

has anybody got lamin-x any of the tint types on there S3 as i would like to see what they look like before i get them i have tried searching them as i did find a thread a while back but can't find it now can someone post a link or pics

S3 - i have to hand it to you mate - it really takes some guts to get back up from an injury like yours and some never get over it, but it appears like you have done so in style. Fair play to you, and I have the upmost respect for that. Just dont drive like every other young knober in a powerful car!

cheers for the kind words jamesS4cab im a very head strong person , i can't promise about the driving thought altough i never drive like a knober i drive the car for what it is , i learnt the the hard way how dangerous the roads are are i think that makes me a safer driver but not by any means a better or even good driver yet i havent had enough experience.
