S3's New Look Part 2 - Being Completed Today

The S3 is in having the roof wrapped up in matte black vinyl as we speak.

Will post some photos once I have it back.

This is part two of a four stage plan to complete my envisaged 'new look'...

I am toying with the idea of buying one of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....835294&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_834wt_1137 to put in it for a bit of a laugh....

Hopefully I can get me a Megan Fox to go with it....

sorry but whenever I see your car pic it reminds me of the taxi`s around here they have a black bonnet, roof and boot lid. ok they are white not yellow but just reminds me of them :)

it does look good....but i think it looks like you've had a front end shunt and not been ***** to have it sprayed yet :)

I'm planning on getting some eyebrow spoiler things, painting them matte black, and also painting a line across the top of the bumper (between the grille and the bonnet to the same height as the spoilers to tie it all in. I eyed it up with bodge tape and think it looked cool.

That combined with the roof and rear spoiler should tie it all up nicely.

I hope.

I've changed my mind now however. It's coming off in a few mins.

Changed my mind for 2 reasons...the roof is FANTASTIC! They have done such a good job.

Followed by the second reason....

I drove all the way to Trowbridge tonight, approx 40 miles, on cruise control between 50 - 60, in 6th.

And this was the result.

that looks pretty smart. I reckon spray the intercooler pipes matt black, then it will look sorted.

Just have to get rid of that yellow interior then:ninja:
 
I take it you are considering selling the beast mate? Noooooooooooooooo, don't do it! How long is the drive to work? I bet if mine was somewhat local on non-motorway roads i'd only get low 30's and I've got the 1.9tdi A4.

The roof looks ace though, job well done indeed. How long do the vinyl wraps last for?

Not any more matey - it's back on my good side. I was having a bad day, and was fed up of putting fuel in the thing.

Got 38.2 average on 40 mile run yesterday using 6th and cruise control - was happy with that.

The problem appears to be my driving style....

DO IT!!! I keep telling my wife i'm gonna get it done so that we can doink in the back. However, in an S3 you'd have to be a midget to make that work I think. Either way, do it...it'll look ace.

I agree, front seat is the dogging spot in a small motor.....

EDIT: I see this thread is taking the usual slow sliding into oblivion as well....

Dogging...yet to try that! I have heard of the local spots where I live, but think it'd just be full of odd men who would scare me. And i'd probably become the target...so i'm staying clear.

As for the thread tumbling into oblivion, is that a bad thing? But to bring it back on topic then, are you gonna paint the front intercooler pipes black as mentioned? I think it'll look good in black!

EDIT: Tell me more about that shortshifter dammit! I want one for my A4

Problem being that hoses IMO are ridiculously expensive. I might just paint them and do about 1000 coats. The other problem with silicone hose is that it's quite reflective - I'm after the matte look.

Yours looks good because your black is shiny!

CR Signs did it, thy're in Nailsworth, just buy the Shell Petrol Station.

Thought that - Not sure how vinyl would stand up to the heat though. I might ask and find out.

Was thinking more exhaust wrap pal. Doesn't have to look pretty, just blend in, right?

crazy, didnt realise they did wrapping there. any ideas how much they charge for a whole car?
