I currently have Goodyear Eagle F1's but you can't buy them any more, I have been more than happy with them so need to get some new. What are peoples opinions of what to get. It seems to be between Pirelli P Zero Assimetrico 225-45-17 or Bridgestone Potenza RE 050 225-45-17. Anyone any comments that may help me decide?

Cheers Jamie

F1 Assymetrics (replacement for the F1's), brilliant grip wet and dry, minimal road noise, ive got about 12k on a set and still a few k wear left in them still.

I currently have potenzas on my car and they have been wicked, and handled the Ring well too. I still think that the best tyres i've had on any car were the pilots on the clio 182. My ring lap record was in that car too!

Do you mean the GSD3s??

If so they have been replaced with the assymetrics, however, there are still quite a few places on Ebay that still have them, if you can get them stick to them, I have them and they are brilliant, cant fault them at all..

I can honestly say in my opinion michelin pilot sport are the best, bit expensive but very good. I had them on my R32 and when the S3 needs new rubber i'll be getting these, i got them off event tyres last time, but try cam skill too!

Hope this helps...

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics. Tend to win all the road tests Ive seen. I can confirm they are very very good

Thanks for all the comments chaps, I have checked ebay and found some for sale on there so I am going to stick with the ones I know and like, plus I only really need 2 so they will match the others on the car.

I had GSD3s and although very gripy they only lasts me like 8/9k on the front which i wasnt best pleased about.. Was thinking of getting the replacement F1 Asy's next although they are 30 quid a corner more expensive than what the GSD3s were.

I got new GSD3's on last year for the MOT and they are still legal at the moment but won't be for too much longer. I have done 5 thousand miles since getting them replaced would imagine I would get near 7 before the markers are showing!!
