hey guys iv just got my self a 1.8t a4 in place of my old 1.8 a4 and i was wondering what the best mods were to do to them with out going over the top

if i was starting from scratch and car was in good mechanical order
poly snub mount, sika/tigerseal filled gearbox mounts to stop excess movement
lowering springs and shocks, improve the handling
bigger alloys, looks and handling
tt carrier brake conversion or fast road pads
tt or forge 007 diverter valve
chip, easy power increase for not much money
looks wise just avoid a bodykit and you cant really go wrong with bigger o.e alloys

Depending on your ECU you may not be able to remap and may require a physical chip. The Superchips I got did exactly whaat is said on teh tin and I recorded an exact 30bhp increase

I guess "remap" is one of those terms that gets a bit confusing. In my mind, a remap is the end result. Where as a chip or flash is the method used to do it. Either way you've altered the maps on the ECU, so you've remapped it.
No 1.8T ECU can be flashed on the B5 afaik, they all need chipped.
Thats not to say MRC cant do it mind, they did plenty of tuning on the old I5 engines, and they certainly couldnt be flashed.

proper geometry set up and check all your front arms for worn bushes.
