Been meaning to write this post for ages...

Well back in February it was time to say fairwell to my trusty B6 Avant 1.9TDI Sport. During the time I had it, it was extremely reliable and drove like it had a third of the miles on the odometer and well planted for a FWD estate car. Anyway the plan was to move to a B7 3.0TDI quattro next. Thought that would be the perfect blend of performance, economy and quattro and therefore the 'sensible' decision.
My old B6:

But who wants to be sensible lol?! So the B7 was off the cards and after alot of deliberation I traded the B6 in with a trader from Birmingham for his B5. The car featured in February's edition of Audi Driver magazine as the previous owner wrote the buyers guide, some of you may also know him from RS246 and be familiar with the car too.
Anyway, on with the picture whoring :sly:
Hope you like it (couple of subtle mods since I've owned):

More like 14k + depending on love and care and spec, they hold value really well and after owning a biturbo you cant beat the punch from that v6 ,
nice car mate exactly how i would want one colour and everything
spot on choice :)

Yes marc, a very good choice. ol'stoaksey done his trick with you hey,lol...I was thinking of looking at his a few weeks back as them Rs4's are very tempting.
The colour is lovely and I can imagine the creased line from that grin you cant get rid of everytime you get in there. Standard Power??? (which is more than enough)

Cheers Paul. Wasn't sure if rwellfair's comment was a deliberate troll attempt really so resisted :) In fairness though the price range is massive, even up to £25k!! There have been some cheaper ones available but I think it's all relative and even mileage can't be used as the main indicator. The cars history and condition is vital, followed by spec, colour preferences and if you want a modded one or not. The car I bought was with it's original owner for 8 years and then only with the person I bought from for a year. I have pretty much every bit of documentation right back to the original purchase letter 2 years before delivery was taken. The car is very clean in all areas too having been given a full health Check by a well known specialist. These cars can suffer from cam wear too, so it was important for me to have one that had ha the cams replaced or been given the nod that they where ok. Mine had been checke by the previous owner a year ago an I've just had them checked again at Unit 20 and they are in fine shape (phew!). It's not to say the car has been without issue though, I picked carefully and have still had some expensive bills arlready, but that's for me to discuss with the previous owner/trader I bought from. It's pretty much as I want it now though with some essential and subtle mods (arbs etc).

Yeah he'd sown that seed a long time ago, lol! Pleased I took the
plunge though. Like you say my face is always sore from smiling so much. Stoaksey's is mint from what I've seen too, with all the sensible and suggested mods. It really will be a f***ing good car for someone. I would have def been looking at it had I not already got this one, but I do love the Noggy and black optic pack and wanted a standard car. Although I have considered a stage 1 already lol, but then it would be rude not to acompany it with a full turbo back zorst :-D

o dear i sid sumit bad.. i am new to audi mate and was having a guess As iv seen 07 oplate rs4s looking mint for £29000

No worries fella. 07 plate is generation 2 RS4, the V8. Probably due to become a classic too in time, but a different beast and mass produced unlike the original with 400 RHD cars for the UK. The RS2 that started the craze is still strong money, 16 years old and even rarer at 180 RHD's originally. Would love one of those beauties. :)

It's a B7 A4 DTM. Has the 2.0TFSI engine and 220bhp. Same as the later SE and S Line 2.0T but recaro interior and more aggressive body kit, it was an anniversary edition. Looks like a nice daily driver.

i see well yea a nice car but adding rs4 to anything on ebay i feel!

You've come clean, Finally! How long you had it now? For months I've kept quiet :shutup2:

Lol

Looks great mate, I'm glad you're still happy with it.

Lol! Been meaning to post some pictures up for ages James, finally managed to get it where I want it so now's the time :)

This pic captures perfectly why the B5 RS4 is the most aggressive looking Audi ever

Yeah that's my favourite picture too. I need to get some more pictures though to try and show the bulging arches fro different angles.

That's a lovely car mate! The B5's are so nice, especially when it's an RS4.

What's the other b5 next to it in the last few pics? All i can make out is that it is also blue, but a different shade?

MInes the Noggy blue one on the right with the tints and black optics pack, the one on the left with the silver leather and ally rails and mirrors is someone elses. I just posted it up because it was such a rare colour Kingfisher/Pelican blue, which I think is the same as or very similiar to Juss's B6. Was nice to see the two blue RS4's side by side too

I love the colour of yours Marc, infact i prefer it to mine. That has gotta be the right (and best) colour to buy IMO and like you say with the Black theme - you couldnt get it any better. The curves of the RS4 are unbeatable with them big *** arches. Im not jealous.....:beee:

...ive just realised after going through the pics again and paying attention to the comment you left about the pic just for me,lol - thats just teasing me now aint it

Funny you say that, you dont happen to be a regular on the 'Zine' forum by chance?
I remember when I posted my red one up with the reiger rear and one of the first comments was " damn that has got a fat Ar*e just like J-lo's" - which I found quite funny.

The B5 is the best shape A4 :nyah:

The thing that lets the B6 down is its J'Lo ****......

:friends:

I do go on there occasionaly,LOL

I have to say tho i think the B6 shape lends itself to Avant style perfectly.

J7uus, your cars are usualy just the right mix of parts mate

I think you should clear off to the B5 forum marc1! You're not wanted here with your flashy RS4....it's not making us jealous at all.

Oh, and thanks for clearing the car colour confusion up...i was confused why yours had suddenly changed shade of blue. Loving the black optics though, really look good with that colour car.
