Hey guys,

Kinda annoyed at myself here... have sourced a S3 spoiler to fit onto my A3 sportback and only now realised that i have misplaced the body glue i need to fit it on, and more annoying is that no one in the nearest 15miles can supply me with the right stuff to fit as its Saturday so I am now going to have to wait until next week :banghead:

I have just been told that fitting it with glue might not do the job as it might come off and bolting it down is the answer? it had 3 screw points on the back but as mine is a sport model and not the S-Line or S3 my tailgate does not have the mounting points. When i remove the existing brake light there is a point i can screw in one of the bolts there but other than that i can glue the rest on.

Can anyone here confirm that i can just glue it down with something like Tiger glue or SikaFlex and it shouldnt come flying off?

I wanted this spoiler on today:sob:
Is there anyone that can help me out?:sos:

pretty sure 3 door spoiler retrofits are simply glued on.. correctly fitted with sikaflex shouldn't fly off IMO

Ok i have found a body shop who has supplied the adhesive so im going to fit it now and see how it goes, i will try and take some pics for you... who knows it could even be added to the 'How To' list (if we have one?)

Have you got any pics please? I would like to do this.

Let me know how it went.

Thanks

I didnt actually get any pics whilst fitting it
I snapped off the two bolts on either end, scrapped off the double sided glue tape that was on the spoiler and then applied the adhesive to the areas where the tape was. I put the spoiler into place and then I used the centre bolt to secure the spoiler where the existing brake light was.
Finally used some masking tape to hold the spoiler in place over night and finished off by polishing off the spoiler.

Here is the spoiler and the finished product...

Oh, wow!

I really want to get it done, just need to now find somewhere to get one.

Just have to keep looking on the bay. :detective2:

Thanks ever so much for the lovely pics, you've done a great job!

I have just found this... not totally sure what it looks like but he says its genuine sportback spoiler... maybe ask him to show a better pic?

here is another:

that second one looks a bit different to the S3 spoiler on my sportback.

Nice one. That first one looks like a genuine Audi part.

I'll email him and ask him about it.

Thanks itwasntme, do you think that this would come with the 3rd brake light inbuilt?

Then, all I need to do is get it painted.

Thanks again

My one had the brake light built into the spoiler as you can see from the above pics. and it also had a direct connector in it so it can be wired into the original car wiring.
I am pleased with the spoiler i got even if it did mean i had to modify it to fit to my car.

from the first post he says that it is not for the Sline models, and from what i know the Sline and S3 spoilers have the extra bolts to hold it in place as mine had. this would mean that this is an add on spoiler for the sport model which you just glue on. Cannot say if this one would have the brake light in it as its just a glue on product, worth asking the seller though to have a look in the box?
