Been scanning this forum thorougly since we agreed to buy an '04 A4 avant 190 s-line from a local garage. Fell in love with the looks (had to be an estate due to business needs), but worried over erratic water temp. on test drive..
Loaded with info from here made the garage change water pump, thermostat and cambelt (hadn't been changed at 80k with FASH?!) before we picked it up, as the title says, thanks already

Love the range of smilies by the way, only used VW forums before (old air-cooled ones) and not seen such range!
Still a couple of niggles with the car (like failed self-adjusting lights?), but love the interior, performance, handling etc..
