I'm new here but not to the VAG family, my latest purchase is a '96 A4 1.8T Sport in a kind of purple blue colour.
Having owned a Passat 1.8T, I thought the Audi would be largely the same but it definately handles better but that could be the sport suspension.
I do have a few gripes though...
To break it in gently, last weekend I drove it from Warrington to the Isle of Skye and back (900 ish miles) and I did the same yesterday/today! It feels a bit hesitant like I'm not getting full boost, very noticible when overtaking lorrys! Could this be MAF, coil packs, DV or all of them?
Also, I lost the drivers side indicator en route! It just disappeared, no bang or anything. I thought a bulb had gone, hence the rapid flashing, not the whole indicator unit! Worse still, neither eurocarparts or german & swedish can get a replacement that fits, their Bosch type units are cack so I'm at the mercy of the local stealer
