Hi all I have had my key stolen and now I'm stuck because the thiefs are constantly turning up trying to steal my car and anything inside it. So what I want to do is change the ignition and door barrel. I spoke to audi about this and there not interested they just want to sell me a new key. So has anybody done this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where abouts are you? You can rebuild your locks and get a new key cut quite cheaply but with a little labour.

I am in lancashire I was told you can only get the Keys from audi. When you say rebuild the locks do you mean buy new ones and change them on the car?

No each lock has a series of tumblers inside. They can be switched around to make a new key profile, then a new key made to suit. Probably quit time consuming.
