My 10 year old Audi A4 2.0 sport with 147K on the clock has only had a few problems - replaced fuel pump and is also using oil with a top up every 1k.
Recently had a problem when starting from cold. Engine starts first time but the rev counter goes up and down violently and the engine seems to miss. When driven off the engine is very jerky and only after some 3 miles when the temp gauge finally gets up to half way does the engine start to run smoothly.
Took it to a local garage who changed the temp sensor but its still the same. Without going into too much detail they said the final answer might cost £900 if taken to a main Audi dealer. Help !! Has anyone else had this problem and what was the answer?
