Help!!!! Broken Multitronic gearbox A4 B8

I have 2008 A4 B8 2,7 diesel with 8 speed Auto box fitted, car juddered and lost drive, so now when gears selected nothing happens. When car is pushed horrible noises come from the gearbox and it sometimes locks up. Audi say it needs a box which costs £5400 and someone said they can fix it for £2950 +Vat as they say a shaft will of sheared in front of box, and also it will need a new ECU which is included in price. Can anyone help on getting a second hand box? Gearbox code is KSS.

You may find something cheaper however seeing as you need your car, Audi will enjoy taking this money off you
