New to Audi and turbos

I have always loved Audi's style and power. Now I finally have my own. I just bought my first Audi, A4 1.8T. First turbo I have driven. I've had it for a month now and LOVE it. I do have a few questions. I understand turbos and how they work but I am unsure about turbos on a 4 cyl. Is it still a high reving motor? Does it hurt to be @ 5 and 6k rpm?
Also If I put a cold air intake would that help my low end torque? The car seems to lag a bit under 3k rpm. I haven't even made a payment yet and I already want it to be faster. Any advice?
