Hi all
New to the site and Audi's having passed over my 2007 Civic to the wife who is expecting our first child in August. Unfortunately her Celica had to go.
On the upside, this means i am the proud new owner of a 2008 A4 Avant 2.0TDI S-line auto!
Used the site lots in the lead up to buying and was toying for a while with Passat (too boring - particularly inside) and the BMW 320 M Sport Touring (too expensive and seemed small up front).
Always liked the B7 Avant and in S line trim the decision was made.
First impressions:
Good
- Excellent handling, quiet on the road, smooth gearbox, very comfortable, quality feel
Not so good
- Cargo cover retracts over bumps (repair kit/heat shrink tape on way!), Sat Nav limited to part postcode search, not as good as the Civic on fuel.
Already on order:
Retrofit cruise control (cant manage without this)
Boot liner
Alloys booked in for a refurb
On the wishlist:
Tinted rear/side windows
Replacement aluminium door trims (if i cant sort them with other method)
DRLs
Auto lights/wipers
Iphone interface for music
Other toys:
Not that it has seen much use recently (and not likely to soon with baby on way) I have a Honda RVF400 in Rothmans Racing colours and a Gilera SKP50 scooter which i need to tidy up and spray in Marlboro red colours.
Anyway, here's to many years of fun with the A4!
