Newbie with A3 steering rack problem

hello,

i wondered if anyone can you help me pls. i have an a3 sline TDI 07 plate and i need to find out the part number for the steering rack.... it knocks when i rock the steering wheel left to right so i need a new one.

Pleased feel free to give me advise on pattern part or if used is best (safer bet) as cannot afford a new one and if you know of any good pattern part suppliers if that is your recomendation.

I would really appreciate any help as im getting a lot of conflicting information from garages.
