Hey guys, I'm doing a bit of research at the moment.

Current own a *coughcorsacough* which was a stupid idea and its given nothing but problems as theres 120k miles on the clock (water pump also died = swap engine!)
So... away from high mileage and unreliability, I'm looking for something that will last me a while. I've looked at a few A3 1.8 QTS's which seem to be the way i'm leaning at the moment as insurance isn't astronomical either.
Basically I'd just like some opinions on the cars and any things I should look out for when viewing. Not really knowing a lot about VAG cars I've been reading a few threads on here and the 1.8 seems to be pretty durable, which is good because eventually I would like to aim for the stage 2 remap. Looking at the 8L model around 60-70k miles, but I'll be hanging on this time round and finding one with a full Audi service history!
