Hello everyone I am new to this site,
At the moment I drive a subaru impreza WRX 53 and looking to change this for an Audi A4tdi not bothered if manual or auto. But I have also been told to avoid Multitronic and the 2.5. Is there a way of telling a multitronic from tiptronic just by looking at it? is the 2.5 a lot of trouble? i will be looking at the 02 - 04 year.

Welcome, Im not sure how to tell either. If you can't find out here you could always try an audi dealer....
 
Fwd = Multitronic, Quattro = tiptronic.
 
Ha so all 2wd are multitronic and all quattro's are tiptronic
 
Hi and welcome to the site. We have a 2.5 and love it! It can have issues but so do all the engines Audi use! Just make sure its got full service history. Main thing is if the fuel pump goes, its a costly repair.
 
Thanks everyone for the welcome! The thing is I have never had Audi before I have always had Jap cars Scooby's, Skyline etc. This will also be my first Diesel not sure what to expect.
