How much should the other half be expecting to pay for her GOLF's first cam belt change and service??

Independant VW specialist qouted £425.

Is that reasonable??
 
Sounds pretty reasonable, when I still had mine it cost over £700 from VW for a full 60,000 mile service and cambelt change /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
 
dont forget water pump too when gettin cambelt done!
