Hey guys,
still got my Audi but i bought the missus a cheap 98 R plate Golf L 1.4.
Never heard of an 'L' model before, I assume its a very base model compared to the Cl and GL's??
98k miles, Fsh upto 79k. Starts and drives fine, pulls to the left alot, so will change the wishbones, ball joints and tie rod ends on both sides.
When is cambelt due on these?! Haven't read service book fully yet.
Car smokes slightly on full acceleration. (Hasnt been serviced since last one at 79K according to female owner!!) So a full service on the cards too.
Drives fine upto 70mph, then there is a lot of hesistation, prob due to needing a good service.
Is there anything I should also check? Never owned a golf before but have had many Audi's.
All in all, for £200 notes for a car thats reasonably tidy, we're impressed and the wife loves it!!
