Hi, I've just bought a 1998 Passat 1.8T with the standard VW Gamma radio/cassette, can this be replaced with a Kenwood CD head-unit without too much messing about, and are the standard VW Gamma units easy to remove ???

Should be a straight swop, might need to change the ignition and live(usually red and yellow) wires around for Kenwood to hold memory. Removal may require the Audi/VW keys to prevent damage to the locking pins, try ebay, halfords or local ICE shop, shouldnt be more than £5. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif
