Hi guys im hoping someone may be able to help me out with a contact or two??

My father in law had a rather tired Y reg inca van that required some TLC so i took it on as a job in my spare time and resprayed it for him and furbed his steel wheels etc and when he saw it he was almost in tears with delights as that van is his pride and joy!

So any ways the weeks and months go by and i get a call, the van wont start! So after a fair bit of research i checked the usual suspects and found relay 109 to be at fault, bingo the van was back in action.

A few more weeks go by and the van has been sitting over these weeks with about 6 inches of snow on it, he started it as normal and away doing his jobs and when he returned to the van it wouldnt start, all it would do it turn over and fire once and cut out. So i assumed this to be an immobiliser fault and contacted a seat friend who agreed, so i was told to remove these parts and put them together with the key on a radiator over night and that should do it and to clean up the key transponder which i did but to no avail.

So last thing to check on my list was the dreaded ECU, in the back of my mind i had thought all along it will be the ECU that is swiming in water, so i tried a generic code reader on the van to see if i could get any life from the ECU and low and behold there was no comms with ECU. So i sent it off to a firm to be checked and repaired, but they called to say it was a total loss.

So after all that i am now looking for an ECU for the van, i have been informed that no other ECU can be used or adapted to suit as there are plenty of ECU's for 1.9 SDI skodays but non of the codeds match the ECU part number which ends in 013AN and this is my problem i cant seem to find anywhere that does them.

If any one could help it would be very much appreciated guys.

Kind Regards

Gordy

Tried Seat?

I like that reply, but you would assume i have obviously tried seat and it works out more than the van is worth so im trying to find a cheaper solution to save the van.

Usual methods mate, Ebay and ring round all breakers really. Maybe try looking for commercial specialists.

I managed to source one with a firm called lynx, mega helpful chap at the other end of the phone, paul i think is his name.

£564 for a recon unit un locked to plug and play.

Im just waiting on it coming now.
