Engine management light

Hi,

I have a quick question, my engine management light has come on and i will need to get a diagnostic check done on the car, but is the car safe to drive at the moment?
it is a 2001 S3, it seems to be a bit hesitant when changing gear, but is ok after that, i am just wondering if something has got a bit soggy in the electrics due to the riduculous amounts of rain we have had today.

Unfortunately there is no way to know until the scan is completed. Usually, if the lamp is on steady, there is a concern you should get taken care of. If it is flashing, then you should not drive it at all.

thanks bruce, i haven't driven it, and have someone with vag com to come and give it a scan next weekend.
