    HEX-CAN

Just bouight a new HEX-CAN unt from Gendan, looking forward to getting it plugged in

I have an A4 Quattro TDI which has 112k on the clock and am looking to get the ode girl running right. I have changed the air, fuel, pollen and oil filter (inc flush and 507.00 oil) I have gearbox and final drive oil ready to go in too - I had a quick look at the EGR today...blimey..wot a mess! Gave it a good clean and fired in back on as it was gettin cold and was losing light.

Tomorrow (weather permittong) is the brakes - ATE power disks for the front with std pads + std ATE discs and pads for the rear.

Will post as soon as I have had chance to run some live tests :D

I got my Hex can from Gendan too. Very good with good customer service.

Jury still out with Ross Tech though. Still awaiting a problem to be sorted which I posted a couple of weeks ago.

The VDS software is brilliant though, so I am prepared to wait cause their probably busy being a global entity.

edit - mines a micro can sorry!

I need some advice on what checks to run on vagcom as my engine is running very loud and seems to be lacking in power

There seems to be a bit of a whistling noise when I accelerate, it runs very lumpy when cold and it is smoking quite a bit.. Just hope the turbo hasn't gone.

Run an Autoscan and report your findings here. Until we have that info, we cannot give much advice.

What you may wanna do is log maf and boost first to get an idea if that meets the spec. Of course some things are simply mechanical and once you figured there may be boost missing you may need to hunt for leaks the old styled way.
