Hello already i have turned on auto locks which is cool and tried to get my a3 to beep on alarm activation but it doesn't seem to want to but hey my golf does it so that will do me lol

any other cool stuff i can do???

My best advice would be to carry out a full autoscan of the car and keep a copy of the original coding.

how do i go about doing this? just auto scan then save the results

It's just handy to know what the baseline was. If you start to get issues or you make a cock up at least you can go back.

I normally print to PDF but not everyone has that facility, just use whatever suits you.

or on a canbus car,

on the main screen -> applications -> gateway installation list

takes 3 seconds to do a quick scan

Your method is ideal for a quick check Carl although I'm not 100% sure it works on MicroCAN.

What I was suggesting is the OP made a backup of his current setup which does require a full auto scan.
