Screwed up central locking

Can anyone help?

I was trying to add the chirp to my central locking on vag com & changed the coding by accident. Now neither of the keys work remotely.
The immobiliser still works ok & can lock & unlock manually.

Any ideas how i can find the original coding?

from what i just learned from a fellow member here on this great forum is to carry out a full auto scan of the car and keep a copy of the original coding before you change anything,

my guess would be you need to re synchronize your remotes with your alarm which is quite easy,

try this

You will need two keys and both remotes to (re)program your remotes. Follow the directions below. Note: the 1996 model year remotes are different and probably will not work the manner below. I do not know the situation with later model years.



Take one key and put it in the ignition and turn the ignition ON.
Close and lock the driver's door with the second key (while the ignition remains on).
Take the first remote and press the "UNLOCK" button ONCE only - alarm will 'beep' but door will remain locked.
With the key, unlock and lock the door again.
Test the remote by pressing the "UNLOCK" button again - door should unlock.
Open the door and turn ignition off and back on again using the first key.
Continue the procedure for the second remote - close & lock the door with the second key (leaving the ignition on).
Take the second remote and press the "UNLOCK" button TWICE - alarm will 'beep' each time button is pressed but door will remain locked.
With the key, unlock and lock the door again.
Test the remote by pressing the "UNLOCK" button again - door should unlock.
Remove both keys, close the door and perform a final retest by locking and unlocking the car with both remotes.

Thanks for that, but i had actually changed the car's internal code by accident.
Figured it out though, found the original code on the text file it generates for sending back to Ross Tech...

And that's why we always tell people to run an Autoscan and save it before you change anything. It's your back up!

I thought this was the answer to my problems, alas things have not gone to plan.
I have 2 remotes, of which only one worked. I treid to follow another guide, which has resulted in the one functioning remote not working
Both the keys manually lock and unlock... but not central unlock.
WHen I tried to follow this guide, the alarm did not 'beep'.
I am hoping I have missed something obvious and I am being a numpty.
SHould this work on an 51 plate A6?
I have access to VAGCOM, but I am not sure what i am looking for!
Any help is greatly appreciated.
