ECU question

Hi all,

Not sure if I'm in the right place but here goes.

Can you have the ECU updated with new Audi software rather than a chip?
I had a focus that had poor economy and I had the ECU updated with the latest Ford software. It was software 2 years newer and made a massive difference to the cars performance.

My car is a 54 plate A3 1.9 TDi and runs ok but just wondering?

Yes, but only if there is a new version available.

Yes, no, maybe... there were numerous but its impossible to give you a real answer until we see some real details from your vehicle in question. Specifically the ECU P/N and current SW version are important.
