Are door locks sensors reported in VAG?

I seem to have a faulty passenger door lock sensor as it shows both doors as being open on my DIN when only the passenger door is open. Also my alarm doesn't arm and i'm sure this sensor is the culprit. Before I go buying a new door lock or even start to dismantle the one I have can someone tell me if it should show up in VAG?

Well it does show in I think measuring blocks or advanced for the 8P lock status so check the RT wiki for the 8L, VRStu might know that one, central locking 35 might help, cant remember from my S3 sorry.

If the car is 'seeing' an open door then AFAIK it will be being reported by the door controller/sensor.

What's the P/N of your controller?

the number for my central locks is: 8D0 862 257 E

It shows the door status change from 100 to 110 in measuring blocks when you open each door. Its just that the dis shows both doors open instead of just the passenger door!

110 is two doors open I think.

Stu the controller doesn't show any errors, my whole car is error free at the moment.

If I open my drivers door by itself the status changes from 100 to 110, I then close it and it returns to 100. I do the same on my passenger door and its the same. If I open both doors together it also changes to 110!

I'll email ross-tech and see if they can help.

I still think that 100 means a door is open and 110 means 2 open.

Have a look in the ross tech folder on your PC and search in the label files for the part number you list. It will show you what I mean, it's what I was looking at last night.

Stu i've found the label file but cant find any info relating to which numbers mean what status.

So that to me looks like it's seeing a rear door and front door open. If you are starting with 100 then IMHO that is a rear door open. Opening a front door correctly gives 110 and opening the bonnet as well as all doors would give 111.

Now excuse my lack of 8L bodyshape knowledge but would I be right in thinking they are all three door?

Can you post an autoscan for us to look at.

Ahh nice one I see what you mean now. Yeah its only 3 doors and I have checked that the boot is showing correctly on the DIS. Do you know if the bonnet should display on the dis if open cos mine doesn't?

Unfortunately I dont have any log files on my work laptop so I cant post an auto scan till I get home cos I left the cable there too.

I tweaked the anti hi-jack when i got VAGCOM 2 weeks ago but I had this issue before I enabled that.

Going on that status code it must be logging a fault with the boot lid sensor. I only want it sorted so I can arm my pathetic alarm.

I see your having posting issues Stu. I posted my log file last night but it hadn't updated the front forum page which is why I put another post to bump it, I wasn't rushing you mate.

Ok well thanks for all your help I think the live diags show that there is some issue with the boot lid. When I get a chance i'll test opening and closing the boot with VAGCOM and see what I get.

I fianlly got round to checking out the door codes on VAG and now i'm pretty sure the issue is with the passenger door lock.

- My starting code with all doors/boot/bonnet closed is 100
- Drivers door open only = 110
- Passenger door open only = 110
- Bonnet open only 101
- When I open the boot only it registers 1100 on the luggage compartment field.

So as the passenger door is making the dis think both doors are open and all other doors seem to register a code ok except this one I will be taking the thing apart when I get time.
