i would like to know as well as it seems my vagCOM plans are becoming increasingly fruitless, cable from china is locked out it seems. So sending it back today. I could go for another, or to forego the hassle...
i just want something that works when i plug it in...

After doing a little bit of digging around these appear to work on version 704.1 only as they are basically pirated versions of the genuine Ross Tech cables.
Think I'll leave this for a genuine cable.
