cruise control recode help

Hi ,i have fitted cruise control to my 2006 A4 and all went well,coded the steering wheel ok,cleared all abs faults.But i am stuck trying to recode the last part


To finish the job - go to module 01 - Engine
Login
Enter 11463
Click on 'Do It'

the login button is shaded out?

Anyone able to help?

What version of VAG-COM are you runnning? Do you have any problems connecting to other modules?
 
The only product that will work with the 2006 A4 is VAG-COM version 704 and a HEX+CAN interface.

How do I know? I drive one and I work for Ross-Tech. ;)
 
Yes i am using version 704 software and using a genuine HEX+CAN cable bought direct from ross tech by myself.

When i was following the install instructons for the cruise control(audiretrofit.co.uk),the point at reseting the abs brakes ;

[login-11]
enter 40168
[do it]
I was unable to do that but I had to select "security access" then enter 40168.Which worked ok.

Now,do I need to use the same way to enter 11463 for cruise?I may have used 40168 thinking this was the "security code" for my car and then it told me it was the wrong code and needs to "time out".

If I press 07 coding it brings up the engine code in long code which i know nothing about but I did write it down....0104000318070020......

I have not come accross any other problems accessing other modules,but then I have only used it to recode for sat nav so far on this car.

Hi Tony

I've just retro fitted a cruise stalk to my 8P S3 and all went well, the steering wheel accepted the new code but I also can't access the Engine 01 - login 11 section, it's all greyed out. Could you explain how you managed to access it to input 11463.

I'm using a fully registered version of vag-com so I should be able to access all sections!!

Now I get where the "01" goes! I've just changed the long coding and tried it out on the road - everything works ok.

audi upgrades
I've just fitted a Cruise Control indicator stalk into a MKv GTi today and recoded the steering wheel from 0000012 to 0000042.

Everything else on the stalk works as before (lights & indicators), but the cruise will not engage.

Anybody know what else I need to be doing?

I tried making the 00 to 01 long coding change mentioned above, but that seems to be for adaptive cruise control. 00 is for cruise control.

I know it is not Audi, but it sohuld be something similar, shouldn't it.

Ok, your problem is as expected the engine control module coding (not Coding-2). The current coding 0403000318070060 has not been modified yet, the proper coding would be 0403000318070160. You can also use the long coding helper to make that change.

I had that coding done last week when I installed the unit, and only set it back before generating that log file today. It was throwing an error and the cruise would not work with the 01 set.

I'll use the long coding helper to set it back to 01 and generate another auto-scan.

Once the 01 is set, is there anything else I need to do in order for it to work? Or should it just kick in at that point?

Do I need to have the engine running or anything while making the change, and do I need to restart before it will pick it up?
