TT Vag-codes ? Radio ??

Hi there,

My wife's TT has a couple of faults in it: Fuel guage in cluster not working (though the eletronic miles left works) and the outside temp is weird.

Anyway, I connected Vag-Com up to it and pulled out:

* Address 08: Auto HVAC

00779 - Outside Air Temp Sensor (G17)
30-00 - Open or Short to B+

Component: HALDEX LSC ECC 0010
1 Fault Found:
00526 - Brake Light Switch-F
27-00 - Implausible Signal

* Address 56: Radio
Controller: 4B0 035 186 Q
Component: concert II GRO 0008
Coding: 00000
Shop #: WSC 01236
1 Fault Found:
01317 - Control Module in Instrument Cluster (J285)
49-10 - No Communications - Intermittent


Any ideas on what's up ?

00779 - Outside Air Temperature Sensor (G17): Open or Short to Plus

Possible Symptoms

• In the Instrument Cluster you see dashes (---) instead of a temperature

Possible Causes

• Wiring between Outside Air Temperature Sensor (G17) and Instrument Cluster: Open or Short Circuit

Possible Solutions

• Check wiring between Outside Air Temperature Sensor (G17) and Instrument Cluster
• Check Measuring Block Value

00526 - Brake Light Switch (F): Implausible Signal

Possible Causes

· /Connectors from/to Brake Light Switch (F) faulty
· Wiring Brake Light Switch (F) faulty

Possible Solutions

· Check/Repair Wiring/Connectors from/to Brake Light Switch (F)
· Check/Replace Brake Light Switch (F)
· Check Measuring Value Blocks (MVB)

Any idea where I can find the Air Temperature sensor in the Audi TT, so I can have a look at the connectors to it ?

It's behind the front lower grille below the bumper and in front of the radiator.

I can see it. But how do I get near it ? Do I have to take that lower grill off ? How do I get at it ?
