    Any Good VAG-COM Information for B6 A4?

    Ive used VAG-COM before on my old MkIV GTi but i guess different cars are different.

    Ideally i want to get my fog lights to run with my little side lights. This is the information Ross-Tech gives me:

    09-Elec. Ctrl. Mod. K1 – KWP1281
    VAG-COM works fine.

    Tweak: Coding options for lighting Coding is 000XY.

    X=1 for Xenon Headlights,
    X=0 for conventional Halogens.

    Country DRLs: Fogs w/o low beams:
    Y=1 RDW (Rest of World) No Yes
    Y=2 NDL (Netherlands) Yes Yes
    Y=3 USA No No
    Y=4 KAN (Canada) Yes Yes
    Y=5 DAN (Denmark?) Yes Yes
    Y=6 SON (Other?) Yes Yes

    Fogs w/o low beams only appears to work on 2002 models. For 2003+ models, we know of no way to run the fogs without the low beams, except Canadian, which turns on Daytime Running Lamps (DRL's). We are not sure why there are so many Yes/Yes combinations; there must be some other features controller by this. The state of the Radio and Climate Control lighting is affected by this coding as well.
    However, it does not say where i'm to go to edit it, in VAG-COM's software, I open up 09-Elec. Ctrl. Mod. but then what? Do i need to find the channel? Or do i do a Recode? etc etc.

    Anymore handy options will be much appriciated.

    Since it says "coding", it should be obvious that this means function 07, which is also called "coding".

    Sorry, wasn't meant that way - hope you don't take it personal.

    BTW: We have updated coding tables for the A4 (8E) in our WIKI:

    Sebastian on my version of VAG-COM its "Recoding"

    Anyways i figured it out

    for my original thinking, i wanted to set my foglights to work with the side lights.

    My software code was set to 0003 so i set it to 0001 to set from USA to Rest of World however it hasn't worked! Still as before!

    Ideas?

    Perhaps you should consider updating to the current version rather than using an ancient one which which is no longer supported.
