Hello fellas,

We just recently autoscanned my friends car with vagcom just to check for faults (at this time the airbag light was not on).
We then made a log, cleared all faults, which was resistance errors at airbag module and alarm triggered by interior sensor error.

However, after we cleared the DTC's the airbag light now lights up and shows the same 5 faults.. while trying to clear it it still comes back right away. Anyone has got any ideas what can be wrong? A little weird that all of the airbag moduls have resistance problems so I wonder if this is caused by something else?

Anyone, please?? :sos:

Just a guess: Loose connection at the airbag module?

Hey,

Yeah, thanks - we've been thinking about the same. The only strange thing is that the airbag light was not lit when we started the scan, only after we read out the DTC's and deleted them.

All my intuition says it has got to do with the control unit since it shows problems to all airbag units / belt tensioners.
It's just that it was an unfortunate coincidence having the airbag lamp show up after a scan.

Now I know why they say if it's not broken, don't fix it... :puke2:

Anyway, thanks for the quick reply Uwe.

I've seen other conicidences that are just as strange that were unrelated to scanning the car.

Actually, passeger's front airbag isn't showing in the list, so it's not ALL of them.

Have a look in the measuring blocks.

Group 001 should be:
Driver's Bag | Passenger's Bag | Driver's Tensioner | Pass. Tensioner

Group 006 should be:
Driver's Side Bag | Pass. Side Bag

Each of these should be "Correct" or "Too high" or "too Low". There's a couple of other possibilities too. In any case, have a look there.
