Can't change SOFT CODE

Hi

I'm trying to fit a new instrument cluster to my 2000 A4 2.5 TDI. I've got a 3rd party interface running with VAG-COM 409.1

I can access all of the modules and even write adaptation changes but for some reason I cannot change a single Soft Code using the Recode-07 feature.

for example. The soft code for my old cluster is 00460 and the new one is currently 00440. I need to change it to reflect the V6 engine.

I click recode, enter in the code and then do It, VAG-COM cycles and the returns the old code, not the new one.

This is also the case when I try to change any Soft Code on any of the modules, even the radio.

All the other features seem to work and I can make adaptation changes.

Can anyone help or suggest anything ????

Seems I had a dodgy version of VAG-COM

downloaded a new version from the website which works perfectly.
