ESP not working.... Vag Com????

Hey Guys,
My ESP light is constantly on (01' A3 TDI) so I need to get it checked.
Phoned my local diagnostics specialist and he said although he aint got Vag Com he can still tap into engine, electrics etc on the system he has and lift any fault codes.

My question is will he be able to get the fault code for the ESP or does it HAVE to be lifted with Vag Com?

Dealer wants £75 for diagnostics check the other guy wants £27 so im really hoping he will be able to do it.

The independant specialist lists on his website he has OBD/EOBD Diagnostics..... will this be ok to check the ESP????

There are many different types of equipment used by independants that can hook up to the diagnostic port. All of these should be able to read and clear any errors.

Vagcom is specifically designed for cars within the VAG group that all. You will find that many of the ones used by independants will be capable of reading all different makes of car with the correct connection cable or module.

Decised to put it into Audi after all... £47 for a check i thought was not to bad..... but see my other thread for results....

Audi dealers.... are they taking the pi$$???
